Meet Lucien Hyde of Midnight Hollow

Lucien is a tortured artist whose only torturer is himself. He enjoys being sad and the better he is, the sadder he gets. It’s his thing.

Good morning, Lucien! Thanks for joining us today.

Hyde: Aren’t we a little past the general presumption that just because it’s morning that life defaults to being “good”? Today is the same quagmire of hopelessness and despair as yesterday or the day before that.

Ok, well then “hello” and again, thank you for joining us.

Hyde: *Sigh* Whatever.

We understand that you’re an artist. Tell us a little about that.

Hyde: I don’t define myself as an “Artist”. I am an observer of the darkness that surround us and reside within us. I use a variety of media to shine a spotlight on that darkness for the world to see.

Um, OK. But doesn’t a spotlight actually get rid of darkness?

Hyde: You must think you’re SO clever. Typical media.

Maybe we should change topics. What brought you to Midnight Hollow?

Hyde: I used to spend my days on the beach in Sunlit Tides but my girlfriend left me for a Masseuse. Thanks for bringing up that painful and bitter part of my life.

I’m sorry to hear that. Have you met anyone since moving into town?

Hyde: Kara Carter seems pretty interesting. Or not. She has a rather eclectic sense of style. Makes you wonder what secrets she’s trying to cover up with all of that fashion.

Finally, tell us a little something people might not know about you.

Hyde: My mother says I have a delightful sense of humour.

Katarina's love for dolls came at a young age, she adored them, all of their fashion and all of the possibilities for them. As she aged her only aspiration was to be like her beloved doll. Now with pristine skin and an almost expressionless face she loves everything she sees in the mirror and doesn't want to be alone. She has her eyes set on collector Jack Limb because if anyone can appreciate perfect upkeep of a doll, it's him; but his feelings for that perfect Sarah Holden are standing in her way.

Hello , Katarina, it’s nice to meet…

Stewart: Oh, I’m sure it is! I could just imagine meeting somebody as fabulous as me and it’s got to be one of the highlights of your life! But enough about me, what do YOU think about me?

Someone mentioned your eccentric sense of fashion.

Stewart: They did? Really? Who? No, seriously… who said that?! Was it Jack Limb? Please tell me it was Jack.

I believe it was Mr. Hyde.

Stewart: Well, I really am fabulous and Lucien was really sweet to point that out. But I feel like, what’s the point of being a doll if you don’t have a fantastic wardrobe to play dress up?

Well, since you brought it up… It’s easy to see the comparison between you and a doll. Your skin is flawless. Pristine. Almost plastic. And is your face is… what’s the most delicate way of putting this? Is your face stuck like that?

Stewart: Oh… you’re too kind. I really have put a lot of work into making sure people always seeing the best ME as possible. I really am a collector’s edition. All of my dolls have been just perfect for me. How can they love me if I’m not doing my best to be perfect for them?

Have you met anyone interesting here in town?

Stewart: *giggle* Is that your not so subtle way of asking me out?

Actually this is just one of the interview ques…

Stewart: Shhhhh! It’s OK. I won’t tell anyone. But I’m not seeing anyone right now because I have my eye on a certain collector. Only somebody like Jack Limb would know the right way to properly care for someone like me.

Jack Limb? But isn’t he dating Sarah Holden?

Stewart: You probably can’t tell it from my facial expression right now, but I’m in a full on rage! How dare you bring up that llama faced loser?!

Well that’s not very nice. She seems like a very pleasant person.

Stewart: I’m so glad I decided not to date you! If my tear ducts hadn’t been removed I would be sobbing! This interview is over!

One of the most iconic things aboutwatching the Harry Potter movies was watching Diagon Alley come to life. I loved that this group of relatable misfits had all found a common groundamongst the hustle and bustle of this small marketplace.

Since we’ve had countless requests for theSims 3 Store to offer additional business gameplay, I couldn’t be happier to beintroducing you to the Savy Seller’s Collection coming exclusively withMidnight Hollow!

With this set your Sim can establish theirown shop! The Savy Seller’s Collection comes with a variety of rugs,shelves, pedestals and even parking spots that let you stock your Simsstorefront any way you wish. Customers can purchase any item that areplaced on these items, or the new Cash Register will keep an inventory of allthe items you have for sale for easy, one stop shopping.

You can set up the markup on each shopdisplay or set up a sale for items you want to sell quickly. You can alsohire an employee to help run the register.

The Savy Seller’s Collection also comeswith a new shop door that lets you name your store and set the hours.

If you don’t want the hassle of having yourSim own a Store there are a plethora of different stores to shop at in MidnightHollow so you can just go around and browse what others have for sale.

Midnight Hollow comes out September 27^th,so make sure your Sims are ready to get to business as soon as it comesout!

1010 Things You Should Know About Plumbots

Hey Simmers!
Today I’m happy to be able to share more info on one of my absolute favorite parts of The Sims 3 Into the Future – Plumbots! From the very beginning of this pack, we set out to make Plumbots feel like a natural evolution of everything fans loved about bots from older Sims games, just bigger, better, more customizable, and more durable. We had so much fun acting out bot animations and telling crazy bot stories. Here are a few fun facts to get you ready to play with the future and Plumbots!

1. Plumbots are an integral part of the household of the future. Most families in the future have at least one bot to help out around the house, and several service industries have enlisted Plumbots to do work like firefighting and pizza delivery.

10. Programmable Personalities! One of the things that set Plumbots apart from all other beings in The Sims universe is their ability to change personalities with the flip of a trait chip. Without trait chips, bots are pretty simple creatures; you only need to keep their batteries charged and their chassis tuned. Trait chips hold the personality programming for your bot. With a simple Adjust Trait Chips interaction, you can change your bot from fun-loving to evil in a snap!

11. There are dozens of trait chips available for Plumbots. Competent Cleaner is a great trait chip for some instant help in a messy house. Need some help in the garden? With the RoBotany Gardener chip, bots will automatically tend the garden and fertilize plants – no ingredients needed! The Office Drone chip will allow your Plumbot to get a job and earn some simoleons for the household. If you’re looking for a bot with a little more humanity, give Sentience a try. This chip is the closest program to humanity that a Plumbot can equip. And of course the Efficient and Solar Powered trait chips are always good to have on hand since they will help your Plumbot run more smoothly.

100. For players who want to dive deep into the world of creating and customizing Plumbots, a Bot Workshop is the place to start. Improve your Bot Building skill by Designing Nanites and Trait Chips. Nanites are one of the building blocks for bot trait chips; you can learn how to make them by Designing Nanites on the Bot Workshop or find them in the wild. By Designing Trait Chips, you will learn how to make new trait chips for your Plumbots.

101. Create-a-Bot! With a little Bot Building Skill, you can use the Bot Workshop to create and customize a Plumbot in the brand new Create-a-Bot Mode. This mode allows you to customize everything physical about your bot. With tons of heads, torsos, arms, legs, and hovers to choose from, the options are endless! Try out patterns on your bot with Create-a-Style, and of course share your unique creation with friends on the Exchange when you’re done.

110. Bots are upgradeable! Improve your Bot Building skill to upgrade Plumbots. Upgrades will allow bots to equip more trait chips at once and expand their personality. With a high Bot Building skill, you can also improve the quality of your bot as you give them tune ups. Having a higher quality level will make your Bot run more efficiently and use less battery power. These upgrades increase the value of your Plumbot (should the day come that you want to sell your metal friend).

111. Plumbots are self-sustaining. Bots are capable of tuning and charging themselves, but with the right trait chips installed they can do so much more! Create a household full of bots equipped with Office Drone, Limitless Learning, and Sentience trait chips, and you never need a human again!

1000. Romance is in the silicon. With the Capacity to Love trait chip, Plumbots can simulate all the gushy feelings human Sims love to express. Bots can even woohoo with each other in a variety of places; for a great new woohoo spot, look no further than the Bot Workshop! Of course, since Plumbots aren’t human, they don’t reproduce like human Sims, but with the RoboNanny trait chip installed your bot will take excellent care of your little ones.

1001. Plumbots can project the future! With a Holo-Projector chip, bots can help you contact your friends in the future so you can keep in touch, even when you’re separated by time and space. Who needs a phone when you have a Plumbot?!

1010. While visiting the future be sure to swing by the Nuts n’ Bolts Bot Emporium. The Emporium is a great place to purchase bots with pre-programmed personalities. The helpful Sales Bots will also be happy to sell you finished trait chips for your Plumbot as well as a wide array of ingredients for making trait chips in your Bot Workshop. No need to use valuable Lifetime Happiness Points to buy a Plumbot! If you want a bot of your own without the work of making it from scratch, this is definitely the place to go.

Whew, that was a lot of bot-related info! I hope your circuits aren’t overloaded. Out of all the features in The Sims 3 (including Witches and I really liked that one), I had the most fun making Plumbots, and I really hope that you love playing with bots as much as I do.
